As of April 2007, there were 45 drug courts in Texas that had been operating for more than 2 years, 18 drug courts which had recently been implemented and 10 that were being planned.

Approximately 460,000 (2.56%) Texas citizens reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use within the past year.
