As of April 16, 2007, there were 155 drug courts in California that had operating for at least two years, 6 that had recently been implemented and 10 that were being planned.

According to available survey data, approximately 849,000 (2.9%) California citizens reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use within the past year.
